Luke Laidley, 43, jumped into the waters of Lake Michigan Tuesday when a tube his boat used to be pulling flipped and a couple of children started struggling in the water.
Others at the boat have been ready to Laidley aboard and started CPR on him. He was taken to the clinic in serious condition and died and short time later.
His family said Laidley was once a 9/11 survivor, and used to be working in Tower Two when the assault took place. It was once just his second day at the activity.

Born on September 14, 1979, Luke Laidley was once the 5th of six youngsters to Forrest and Diane Laidley of Libertyville, IL. Raised within the northern suburbs of Chicago, Luke was an avid athlete and grounded himself in faith as a graduate of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein and Boston College where the tenant philosophy was once to function males and ladies for others.
After graduating from Boston College with some extent in Finance, he took his first process at 21 years old with Morgan Stanley in New York City. Morgan Stanley used to be the largest tenant in Tower 2 of the World Trade Center. His second day at the activity was September 11, 2001. As a survivor of the 61th ground of Tower 2, he later wrote, “I encourage all folks to rely our blessings each and each day. Give of your self and expect not anything in go back. And change into a part of something that is more than yourself.”
