AN ANCHOR has been taken off the air after she quoted the rapper Snoop Dog on reside TV previous this month.

Barbie Bassett used a slang term derived from a racial slur while on air at the Mississippi-based NBC associate WLBT.

But the station did not confirm that Bassett was brushed aside.

"WLBT is unable to comment on personnel matters," said Ted Fortenberry, the station's regional vp.

He added that the station is recently excited about masking the tornadoes that killed at least 26 people when they hit the Mississippi Delta region on Friday night.

Bassett was conspicuously absent from the station's coverage of the elements event.

This is not the first time the host has ended up in hot water for her on-air comments.
